The four pillars revisited
Remember the four pillars from Module 1? You now have all four:
- Mental model — Modules 1 and 2. You understand what generative AI is, how LLMs predict tokens, how training works, and why hallucinations happen.
- Specifications — Module 3. You can write prompts as specs using the Structured Prompt Formula.
- Tool map — Modules 4 and 5. You know the major tools, when to use which, and how to spot a wrapper.
- Judgment — Modules 6, 7, and 8. You research with verification, shape output through format and roles, and build workflows instead of chasing tricks.
That’s the difference between using AI and being fluent in AI. The first group is everywhere now. The second group is rare — and getting hired, promoted, and trusted to do real work.
Where to go from here
You don’t need to master every concept in this course before moving on. Most people don’t — and the ones who become fluent aren’t the ones who memorized the material. They’re the ones who picked one or two things and started using them on real work.
Here’s a reasonable next step:
- Pick one workflow from the Practice Projects. Run it this week on a real task. Note what worked, what didn’t, what you’d change.
- Save your favorite prompt as a template. Reuse it next time the same task comes up. That’s how a workflow becomes a habit.
- Come back to the modules that didn’t click yet. Once you have one workflow running, the rest of the course makes more sense.
Take it at your own pace. Fluency builds.
What comes next: Course 2
When you’re ready, Course 2 — AI at Work picks up where this one ends, applying these foundations to real job tasks: drafting emails and reports, running meetings, analyzing data, and building reusable workflows for the work you actually do.
Course 1 gave you the language and the system. Course 2 puts it to work.
